POTENTIAL CALLER BEWARE!!!! Many folks that are not in the trades or that deal with service/facilities maintenance jobs all day are unaware of the shift happening. Back in the day, you would call this company and a tried and tested HVAC tech would show up. These days, companies (not all, but definitely this one) are sending out techs that are taught to fix minor issues but to also push to sell the customer on a new HVAC system (with financing available!!!). So these folks that show up are half technician, half sales rep. If your unit is even a little old, or has an issue that cannot be very easily fixed, they are going to push for a new system whether you need one or not. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE CALLING A VENDOR SUCH AS SCHNELLER KNOCHELMANN. I have clients that are in their 60's, one of them just had half their liver removed due to cancer, and Schneller's tech told them the unit needed to be replaced due to a leak that they could audibly hear (ding ding ding, one would think that would narrow down the location of the problem!!!!) but the tech would not investigate because "a hornets nest was under the cover." The next day, a true and tried tradesman came out and found the leak, fixed the leak, filled the system, and guess what??? There was no hornets nest. This went from a potential replacement of tens of thousands that they just do not have to a $600 repair. I say all of this to make you aware before calling. These folks are not alone in this shift. There are many others out there (Fast Response, Arlinghaus to name a few). There are still some good ones out there so do your due diligence before letting them convince you that your 8 year old system needs to be replaced. I would say shame on you Schneller Knochelmann but I know you probably have massive investors or corporate overlords that have been the biggest factor in this push so I really don't blame you or the techs you send.UPDATE: While I am still irked by the tech's actions on his visit, I must say the talk I had with the Service Manager Chris was very helpful and he 100% made the situation right.

I received a phone call from my wife while I was at work, explaining that our AC essentially took a poo. I googled local HVAC companies, and SK came up with very high reviews. I called and scheduled an inspection of my system the next day. Shortly after the first gentleman diagnosed the issues, it was made clear that the best investment would be to replace my entire system- confirming my worst fear. It was 80 degrees in my home, and I didn't feel like choosing a temporary fix for a long term problem, so I agreed to a full system replacement- both furnace (original 30 year old unit) and AC (mismatched parts from previous homeowner, handyman special).I can't say I enjoyed hearing the prices, but I also understand what Covid did to the world and local economies, so I bit the bullet. Their crew came out the very next day, and had both systems installed before I was even home from work, leaving no trace whatsoever that they had done significant work in my home. I can honestly say that although you will pay a premium price, you will proportionally receive a premium service with premium products. I now have an entirely new HVAC system and a new smart thermostat. I would recommend this company to anyone. The communication, scheduling, professionalism of everyone involved was top-tier, and they met and exceeded my expectations.
